The Challenge
The platform relied heavily on complex third-party software integrations and real-time inventory checks via the Tourplan API, creating an intricate web of connections that initially led to slower-than-desired response times during user searches. The challenge required optimizing data retrieval without sacrificing up-to-the-minute availability and pricing accuracy.
The Approach
Our strategy focused on mapping an intuitive, aspirational customer journey from initial landing to secure booking, prioritizing high-end visual imagery and seamless mobile responsiveness to make luxury travel discovery feel effortless for local residents.
The Execution
Engineered collaboratively through our specialized tech partnership with Elemental using JavaScript, PHP, CodeIgniter, and MySQL, we built a feature-rich web application. Key developments included a sophisticated caching layer for search speeds, a Tourplan API integration for real-time rates, Mpesa integration for local payments in Kenyan Shillings, an exclusive member portal with a loyalty scheme, and a bespoke Content Management System (CMS).
